The chemistry program prepares students with an understanding of hte fundamental principles of chemistry in a variety of applications. Students learn how chemical knowledge is derived, theorized, and applied in solving problems in everyday life.
The pathway below represents an efficient and effective course taking sequence for this program. Individual circumstances might require some changes to this pathway. It is always recommended that you meet with an academic counselor to develop a personalized educational plan.
Identify the basic areas of Chemistry that are appropriate to each Chemistry course. This content will allow students to continue in successive Chemistry courses, as well as relate the knowledge for matriculation and life-long learning.
Comprehend and use laboratory skills in synthetic, quantitative and instrumental methods as scientific approaches to gathering and verifying knowledge.
Demonstrate critical thinking in Chemistry including interpretation, evaluation, explanation and critical inquiry; how to ask appropriate questions, gather relevant information efficiently and creatively, sort through this information, reason logically from this information and come to reliable and trustworthy conclusions.
Collect, analyze and articulate results clearly and effectively in speech and in writing in an accept able style of presentation.

1st Semester
Students are encouraged to complete CHEM 101 Intro to Chemistry during the Summer Semester prior to starting this 2-Year Program Map in order to meet all degree requirements within 4 Semesters as shown below. Now that you are enrolled in your last semester of classes, it's time to apply for Graduation! Schedule an appointment with a counselor to complete a Graduation Check to make sure you are on track towards earning your degree/certificate. During your appointment, the counselor can assist you with submitting your Graduation Application. Feel free to review the Steps to Graduation prior to your appointment and be aware of the Graduation Application Deadlines found on Step 2.
Remember: you must RSVP in March if you would like to participate in the Commencement Ceremony held in May! We look forward to celebrating with you.
